Absolute encoders provide position information by generating a stream of unique digital codes (instead of pulses) that represent the encoder's actual position for a rotating shaft within either a single rotation (single-turn). Absolute encoders will retain correct position even if power fails without homing at startup. The encoder utilizes SSI protocol that provides excellent feedback for demanding motion control applications with high accuracy.
